Down to two

Coming soon to a Bentley Woods home near you, a new master bed!!  We've budgeted and saved for a new bed frame and headboard for quite some time now and now its come to this. For months now I've convinced myself that I'm 100% sure I want the following headboard:

But then I found this one, which is half the price.
This one matches our daybed. I'm still pretty sure that I like the first one better, but keep going back and forth. What do you guys think?

New Lighting for the Laundry Room

Scored this beauty at Lowes for $59. Ok, maybe it wasn't a score considering it wasn't on sale, but still it's perfect.  Pictures installed soon :).

Fireplace Mantle

This weekend's project was small but effective! I painted the fire place mantle and bought a round mirror to go above it. I spray painted the mirror black. Before it had a goldish undertone. I used Vaspar Gloss spray paint for metal and it turned out great! I had to sand down the mantle first before I could paint.

Bye bye Cherry wood, hello white mantle!!!
Before
After

There ya go! Our weekend fix! The less cherry wood in our home the better. That means the banister is to be redone in the near future :).

Plans for the laundry room

Since our washer and dryer were about to die on us, Steve and I decided we would check out the washers and dryers at Lowes to see what was out there. We looked around, ooowing and aweeeing over the ones with color options and extra features, until we came across a set for an incredible deal! These didn't come with the color option but that was ok with us. A set of front loaders for under $1000! We went ahead and bought them because in another week they'd be back up to the original price. We are so happy we did, because they are awesome, and we are so happy we didn't spend what we feared we'd have to eventually spend on a new set. One of the main reason's why I wanted a pair of front loaders is because we plan to put a counter top across the top so there's room to fold clothes. We are also planning to put in a white farm sink.
