Laying it out....
I decided to cut out pieces of paper in the size of the Ikea frames and lay them out on the wall going up the stairs. I have decided that the frames would not only frame pictures, but interests that both steve and I have. In searching for images I came across these amazing movie posters that would look great in the frames I choose for my interests.
There are certain movies that mean a great deal to me, for which I cannot explain to you why. They touch me in a very deep and emotional way, and I feel that displaying that in our home would be a perfect way to add a personal touch.
Shown is how I plan on displaying the frames:
Here are some of the posters I came across in my search:

And if you haven't seen Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind.. see it. The underlying message really made me think.. in a good way

New Happenings
We've made a few changes to the house but not many. Our main concern right now is to add to our master bedroom.
First change is our new lamps we got from homegoods. It took me awhile to pick some out because of price. I finally found these for a decent price!
New pillow from West Elm on sale.
New Shell bowl to home random jewelry, and glass casing.
Also from West Elm, these shelves were half off.
Out on the porch, a new table runner, lantern, candle, and hanging lanterns from Crate & Barrel.
Succulents :)
New pot from Home Goods.

Porch - Part One
So the porch is far from being complete but this past week I finish a HUGE part of it. I painted the ceiling a grey-blue shade called "Blue Arrow" from Valspar. It's funny because when I first told my parents that I was painting the ceiling blue, they kinda gave me a strange look, and I understand, a blue ceiling??? But it looks amazing!!! And Steve agrees :). It makes a load of difference!!!
If you can tell I painted the trim white.
I took some pictures of the rest of the porch and backyard, and included notes of what we want to do in the future.
1. Add mulch, plants and new lighting.
2. Built-in bench idea
3. Even though these smell great, they attract bees so they have to go!
4. Looks like were gonna have to replace some sod :(
5. Replace fence.
1. We want to rip out all of these plants and build a deck with a fire pit.
2. More replacing sod :(
3. Remove steps.
If anyone has tips on how to take care of hydrangeas please let me know! :(
So there you have it. You can see some inspirational pictures on my Pinterest account.

DIY Jewelry Holder
While browsing one my favorite sites Pinterest, I came across this great DIY jewelry holder. See below.
I made my own, but replaced the radiator grate with scrapbook paper and added screw-in hooks for necklaces.
I can't decide what I like better so I might be updating it with the metal sheet.
This original project can be seen here.
Also, stand by for Part 1 of the porch redo!!
